Where was this picture taken, MerjaUK? I don't think we have reindeer running around in Oulu... :-D Although I did once see a an elk near the city running about ten meters from me - I was wondering where all the people were hurrying until I saw the elk... It was BIG... Luckily it decided to turn around and run away :-)
I took this photo at the nearest municipality to Oulu e.g. Kiiminki in search of (what could have been an exiting) new flea market - really not so far away. Merja UK
Nice! I have never seen reeinder there, but it is not a surprise - there have been bears in Kiiminki as well. And the elk/reindeer barrier and warnings start right outside the city but you are so used to them that you forget that there really are animals there. Somehow it's nice to know that we are not so far away from the wilderness as we are used to think living in the city.
